Our Purpose
Beads for Our Bodies is a non-profit feminist jewelry collective founded by undergraduate students Jillianne Samiano (she/her) and Kennedi Malone (she/her) to promote Reproductive Justice by empowering self- and gender-expression among youth. Beads for Our Bodies believes that freely accessorizing our bodies is a radical mechanism through which we exercise our autonomy and choice. As such, we handcraft feminist inspired, identity affirming jewelry that challenges continued efforts to minoritize our beloved communities. We then donate the profits to local Reproductive Justice organizations who are continuing this lovework on the ground. Advocating for resistance informed by a critical analysis of power structures, Beads for Our Bodies also uses its platform to educate youth on reproductive justice and intersectional feminism. Dedicated to celebrating those whose bodies have been excluded and policed, Beads for Our Bodies strives to promote confidence through product, programming, and protest.
